Solo Artist 2 - Lazy Sundays!
September 15, 2014
So I happened to feel a bit lost yesterday and had send myself over to Wan Chai in the morning ( 9am I mean - super duper early for a Sunday). I was running in this area for some chores and after I just thought I would slow down and try to discover this town.
As far as my memory could serve, I always wanted to try Rabbithole Coffee when they first started in Central. I always thought I would go up the stairs during lunch breaks back in the working days. So I thought I would crash at this lovely coffee place on this Sunday morning. To my surprise, as most would thought there should not be too many people having coffee this early but this place is at least 60% full. I am so glad I could find myself a lovely spot waiting for a great brew of Mocha plus a Ham & Cheese Croissant.

Although it takes a little bit of waiting for the orders to come, sometimes these wait are good for a little thinking. I think a lot, maybe too much sometimes. This mocha are great, something with a little bit of depth and taste different from those in other coffee shop. I have to mention, the ham and cheese croissant is the best I have had in Hong Kong. It use to be my favourite back in Sydney days and these are hard to find in Hong Kong. It is served at the right heat for summer (well I was too hungry) it is soft and the ham and cheese ration is just right! It is the best simple meal I had for so long.

Do check them out anytime you are in WanChai.

Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 8:00pm
Weekend and public holidays: 9:00am - 8:00pm

Another good place I feel is the HMV kafe in Happy Valley. I was hungry by tea time so I thought I needed a little musique and somewhere that could stand ONE person to take up the whole table. This shop I think opened for a year already and given its name it would have some good music. They offer all day breakfast on weekends, and this is much the reasons I am there, I luv hasbrowns........yummy! Tea is my beloved and this earlgrey tea is just my taste.

Yes, I managed to bring my book which was collecting dust on my desk for some time. This is the best place where i could concentrate to read, I did take in a lot of the words and wisdom. I do get a bit annoyed when there are big groups yelling, which disturbed my thoughts - I guess this is hard to avoid, but.........this just hit me, how many of us in Hong Kong are able to spend an hour with quality food, music, tea and a book by yourself..........then I feel I am very much fortunate of ALL!
Check them out when you are in Happy Valley!
