Happy Monday, I hope you are all up to date on the latest scores for the World Cup! So the great news for all of you is I am going to make this a regular post on my blog every Monday, I hope you would like it! Keep a watch out on this every Monday, rain, hail or shine!
So from oil pulling, grain brain, fruits & almond milk - what is the latest I tried ???? I am now up for the game for more veggies and omega3! So I have already tried two continuous nights of salmon. Sorry I only got one photo shot from last night's dinner - I have managed to finish the fisth before capturing for the first night!!!
Salmon with Sea cucumber
So I was at the supermarket hoping to get the same fish from the night before, my salmon - it claims is from Norway and I had to believe the label......watever. I was able to get a glimpse of fresh sea cucumber and fresh abalone..............haha I dunno why I picked sea cucumber but I did it anyway (deep down in the heart- I think for beauty reasons!)
Another reason for my eagerness to home cook (I was more of a dine out person - sorry!) , is because I got this new steamer and eager to test it out and now I am a very religious fan!
In terms of salmon, I use to cook them in the grill while back in Sydney. It is the most convenient thing to do - just wrap the salmon in aluminium foil and in it go into the grill......tasty. For obvious reasons, the oven grill is the most common thing in Sydney homes.....and is really hard to get one here in HK since my kitchen only has the capacity of one person per session. Any who my latest alternative is this steamer which comes with a pan underneathe and a pan on top with holes - the two is detachable. This is for gas/electricity cook tops. I guess another alternative is to put in my rice steamer when its keeping my rice warm....I am such a lazy brat.
I just give the salmon a wash with salt and add in shallots, ginger and sea stalt for steam - I have managed to add the sea cucumber on the side as well. I did not add oil for fish as it would give out oil itself - which is more tasty, I did add a bit of soy sauce to add flavour for the sea cucumber otherwise I would go without. My mom did say is delicious so it is a way to go for my new healthy diet routine.
Breakfast with fig, museli & almond milk
Just to update a little on the variation of my breakfast after the berry mix last weei - I have got myself some figs. I luv figs!!! I have sliced them and add it to my milk plus muesli.....very tasty start for the day!
I would recommend you all to add more fish and fruits in your diet!!!
Of cos I am still drinking my lemon water, I think I am always craving for the zest. The day I go without I would feel something is missing! You may read my last post with more info on my lemon water!
I am sure you all know another easy way to stay healthy is to have a positive mind. I am sure you would all go - yeah I knew that! Yes but is easier said than done. It is only on what I am reading latetly that I have been reminded of this important trick in life - stay positive and stay healthy. The whole idea of this is just to keep the positiveness flowing. You think positive, positive energy will keep building up throughout the day and whoever you meet will feel positive around you. As simple as this, is just a action-reaction cycle. What I am going to start this week is:
1: Ask empowering questions
2: Speak using high energy words
3: Positive thoughts!
Why I am stressing on this? I have attended my relatives funeral last week and grieved for a slight moment. I have decided now that rather than using the time grieving, I will use it to be more positive.......while exercising the 3 action above throughtout this week. Hopefully I would see some changes in my behaviour!
Now I would of cos ask for your feedback or questions if there are any - I am always hoping to bring more to you on this blog. You will be my judge to see if I am able to keep up my healthy schedules.
