I had managed to get the Airbuki Bamboo Powder Foundation Brush as well, it seems a compliment with each other. I had not tried using other brush as this is so far working ok - the two combo.
So what makes me buy this mineral make up powder? Certainly I have heard lots of good comments coming from the bloggers world. If there is any one product that I could just use and get out the door without looking too bad - this is the one product! I am currently on the move to more organic products, as you may know Tarte brand is cruelty free, parabens free, glutten free. So it does offer me a more healthy choice.
Without mentioning the very nice sleek packaging, it is a very light weight case with decorated bamboo lid. Opening up the lid, you will find a smart sticker. Removing the sticker you will find a net with product inside. The product is more of dried powder. You find the airbuki bamboo powder brush, exactly matches the size of the net. Try dabbing the brush on the net, it will catch just enough product. I would dab it onto my hand before dabbing it on my face just to remove some excess and avoiding too much on my face on the first dab. Next I will try to cirtcle the brush on my skin. I start from my forehead then my nose, my cheek and my chin. Around 3 dabs of product, it should be enough to cover your face.
I do normally just use sunscreen as a make up base and apply this powder straightaway. It does not have too high a coverage, so if you have any blemishes or spots to hide do this before applying the mineral makeup. The reason for this is, I would not use any loose powder on top of the mineral makeup so there would not be another layer to set the concealer. I just feel too heavy and too much to apply any loose powder on top.
I find this mineral powder is very easy to use. It does not have any SPF but with a good primer or sunscreen, the level of SPF should be able to last through out the day. I am using the tone fair to light neutral which I randomly picked online. Tarte is very good at giving exact descriptions on all tones so is not too difficult to pick the right shade. I had already purchased the whole line of the product including their long lasting foundations and was able to pick the right shade so far.
I do have really pale skin plus sensitive blotches around my cheeks, this mineral powder is very much enough to cover the redness. Another plus is it does not melt away during extreme weather. I have been using all day and been sweating a lot. It doesn not smudge even after tissuing away the sweat. I never like any touch up during the day so this is the one to go for if you opt for less product on your face. If you like the nude make up trend, this one is for you as well. My routine for this week is skincare, sunscreen, this mineral make up, brows and lipstick - THATS IT!
